ISLAMABAD: Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will visit Pakistan on Aug. 13-14 for the first such trip in a decade.
Eide will hold delegation-level talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The agenda covers trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education and people-to-people contacts. The ministers will also discuss regional and international developments, the ministry said.
Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Eide would meet Pakistani officials and civil society representatives in Islamabad.
It identified Middle East developments and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz as Norwegian priorities.

Eide praised Pakistan’s efforts to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran. He said Pakistan’s ties with both sides gave it an important role in efforts to resolve the conflict.
The visit follows telephone talks between Dar and Eide in March and April 2026. Norwegian State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik also visited Islamabad in May, according to the Pakistani ministry.
