The government has mandated the closure of all Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations nationwide for December and January. This measure ensures domestic consumers have an uninterrupted gas supply during winter.

Sources reveal that Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has received directives to implement this closure.

Furthermore, gas allocations to power plants will cease during this period, prioritizing residential needs. Captive power stations will face a similar suspension of gas supplies, focusing on ensuring that households receive the necessary energy resources.

This strategy addresses the expected increase in domestic gas demand, as colder weather typically boosts the use of gas for heating and cooking.

Through these actions, the government proactively ensures domestic energy requirements are met throughout the winter.
