ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) offers pensioners a free proof of life certificate through PakID and designated service points. Pensioners can complete the verification without visiting their bank.
The service provides alternatives to the six-monthly bank visits associated with pension verification. Pensioners can use the PakID mobile application or obtain assistance through:
- NADRA Registration Centres
- Union Councils
- e-Sahulat franchises
- NADRA mobile services
NADRA announced free access through these channels on August 21. The facility aims to assist older pensioners and people whose illness, disability or mobility limitations make travel difficult.
Explaining the submission process, NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali said pensioners must complete the required steps before sending an application through PakID.

The app then forwards the application and relevant information electronically to the pension disbursing authority.
That authority instructs the relevant bank to transfer the pension payment into the pensioner’s designated account. NADRA handles the verification and electronic transmission, while the pension authority and bank retain their respective payment roles.
