On August 5, 2025, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) launched an updated version of its Pak-ID mobile application. This new version introduces advanced features designed to streamline identity-related tasks. The enhanced app aims to save time, improve accessibility, and provide a user-friendly experience for Pakistani citizens, both within the country and abroad, as announced by NADRA.

The upgraded Pak-ID app includes several innovative enhancements designed to improve service delivery:

  • Real-time ID tracking: Monitor the status of identity document applications instantly.
  • Facial biometric verification: Initiate applications using facial recognition for added security.
  • No biometric requirement for family records: View family members’ records without additional verification.
  • Appointment booking: Schedule visits to NADRA centres directly through the app.
  • Improved user interface: Enjoy smoother navigation and greater accessibility.

NADRA encourages users to update the app immediately to access these features, available on iOS and Android platforms.

The update enhances NADRA’s recent initiatives to digitise services. This includes a streamlined online fee payment system for documents such as the Smart National Identity Card (SNIC), Child Registration Certificate (CRC), and Family Registration Certificate (FRC). The app offers multiple payment options, including Visa, Mastercard, Easypaisa, JazzCash, and e-Sahulat, thus eliminating the need for in-person visits to NADRA centres.

NADRA has highlighted its ongoing commitment to improving digital infrastructure, stating, “We aim to provide greater convenience and accessibility for all Pakistanis.” The upgrade of Pak-ID aligns with this vision, offering a seamless and efficient platform for identity management, while also supporting Pakistan’s efforts towards digital inclusivity.
