In protest of the local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) declared on Sunday that it would stage a sit-in at Fawara Chowk close to the Karachi Press Club beginning on February 12.
Convenor MQM-P Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stated that they would move their Bahadurabad center to Press Club Chowk the following Sunday while announcing the sit-in at a general workers’ meeting in Karachi.
He gave the employees instructions to prepare for the sit-in, stating, “We will fight for Karachi’s case from February 12.”. “.
According to the MQM-P leader, Pakistan is at a turning point, but no one is in a position to make decisions. The time has come for the nation to keep its promises to its forefathers, he continued, adding that the economy will overturn politics.
Additionally, Siddiqui declared that his party would run in the upcoming by-elections for the nine seats in Karachi and win those seats.
He claimed that although they withdrew from the local body elections, they now have to fight for what they want.
