The most visited websites of 2026 have already emerged, even though the year has just begun. New traffic data shows that artificial intelligence platforms are now competing directly with long-established digital giants.

According to Semrush’s January 2026 report, traditional leaders like Google and YouTube continue to dominate global rankings. However, ChatGPT has secured a remarkable position among the world’s top platforms.

Most Visited Websites of 2026: ChatGPT Breaks Into Top Five

Semrush data reveals that ChatGPT ranked fifth among the world’s most visited websites in January 2026. The AI platform recorded 5.5 billion visits during the month, surpassing well-known platforms such as Reddit, Wikipedia and X.

This milestone highlights the growing role of AI tools in everyday life. From research and writing to coding and problem-solving, millions of users now rely on conversational AI as part of their daily routines.

Top 20 Most Visited Websites in 2026

According to Semrush data from January 2026, the top 20 most visited websites globally include major search engines, social media platforms, video-sharing sites and AI-powered tools.

While established platforms continue to lead, ChatGPT’s inclusion among the top five underscores how quickly digital habits are evolving in 2026.
