TEHRAN: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf told lawmakers on Tuesday that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was in “full health” following their recent meeting.
Ghalibaf described the Iranian leader as calm and resolute during his address to parliament. His remarks addressed continuing questions about Khamenei’s condition after months without a public appearance.
Iranian state media reported last week that Ghalibaf had met the supreme leader to discuss the country’s military and economic challenges. Khamenei assumed office in March after his father, Ali Khamenei, died during US-Israeli strikes in February.
Since taking office, he has not appeared publicly in a video or delivered a recorded address. Iranian authorities have instead released written messages attributed to him.
President Masoud Pezeshkian previously maintained that Khamenei was healthy and capable of conducting state affairs. Judiciary chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei made similar assurances on Monday after reportedly meeting the leader.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has attributed Khamenei’s absence from public view to wartime security concerns. Ghalibaf’s latest account did not include a medical assessment that could independently establish the leader’s condition.

During their meeting, the two officials discussed economic indicators and measures to maintain domestic production. They also reviewed supply chain security and efforts to protect household purchasing power.
Ghalibaf added that Khamenei had stressed the importance of supporting the livelihoods of military personnel and fighters.
