KARACHI, Sindh: Mir Raza Ali CCTV footage shows the 25-year-old businessman entering a ride-hailing car outside his PECHS home before police found him shot dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
A white car arrived outside Ali’s house at about 4:09 am on July 28. He emerged around two minutes later, entered the back seat and left, according to footage reviewed by investigators.
Police have traced the driver and are collecting recordings from cameras along the vehicle’s route. Investigators are also examining Ali’s recent phone contacts and interviewing employees at his food businesses.
Public accounts of the car’s destination remain inconsistent. The driver reportedly told police that he dropped Ali near his kitchen in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Other accounts said investigators found no evidence that Ali entered the kitchen or the guest house mentioned during the inquiry.
Ali’s body was recovered from bushes near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 1 on July 29. Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed confirmed that he sustained one penetrating gunshot wound to the chest, Dawn reported.
Investigators have not recovered Ali’s mobile phone. His social-media accounts were also deactivated before police found his body, but authorities have not determined who disabled them.

Ali’s father registered a kidnapping case at Ferozabad Police Station after his son failed to return home. East Senior Superintendent of Police Zubair Nazir Shaikh later said investigators did not consider the case a kidnapping because Ali had voluntarily booked the vehicle.
Police have not announced any arrests or identified a motive. They are examining personal, financial and other possible connections to the killing.
