KARACHI, Sindh: The Mir Raza Ali case advanced after Sindh’s Counter Terrorism Department unlocked his Apple Watch and recovered transaction records and other digital evidence. Senior police officials said this new evidence was significant.

Karachi East police had recovered the smartwatch and Mir Raza Ali’s iPhone during the investigation. Officials said data stored on both devices appeared to have been deleted. This occurred before investigators sent them to the CTD’s specialised digital forensic centre.

Forensic experts succeeded in accessing the Apple Watch. However, the source did not disclose the amounts, dates or recipients of the recovered transactions. Officials said the data could help investigators reconstruct events before the entrepreneur’s death.

A technical team is still examining the iPhone and attempting to recover additional information. Police said investigators had gathered further evidence but declined to release details while the inquiry remained underway.

Officials are expected to hold a press conference within 48 hours to announce significant developments. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage and forensic findings connected to the case.

Separate reporting placed the Wafflix founder at his shop near Bahadurabad at about 3:30 am on July 28. CCTV later showed him travelling toward Gulistan-e-Jauhar after leaving his PECHS residence. Police had not announced a final conclusion and were examining both murder and suicide. Meanwhile, his family maintained that he was killed.

Earlier reports said police were relying on digital forensics, mobile records and geofencing. This was because surveillance footage was unavailable near the location where his body was found.
