KARACHI, Sindh: New footage in the Mir Raza Ali case showed the businessman handling a pistol hours before his disappearance, giving police another lead in the murder investigation.
Police obtained the recording from a shop’s digital video recorder in Bahadurabad after registering the case.
The footage showed Mir Raza Ali Khan opening a drawer and removing a holster containing a .30-bore pistol. He then carried the holster outside and placed it in a car.
Separate footage recorded at about 4:38 a.m. showed Ali walking alone near Gulistan-e-Jauhar’s Block. An online taxi had dropped him off nearby shortly after 4 a.m.

— BOL Network (@BOLNETWORK) August 2, 2026Police recovered Ali’s mobile phone and a pistol holster about 200 yards from the crime scene. Investigators had not recovered the weapon or confirmed whether Ali carried it during the taxi journey.
Police sources said the missing pistol and the bullet recovered during the investigation were both .30-bore. Investigators have not established that the firearm seen in the footage was the murder weapon.

The post-mortem examination found one gunshot wound to Ali’s chest. The report attributed his death to haemorrhagic shock caused by severe blood loss.
Karachi Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya found no evidence that the body had been burned. She attributed its condition to decomposition.
Police found Ali’s body in the bushes in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on July 29. Investigators had not announced a motive or identified any suspect.
