SEOUL: The Meta Muse AI rally lifted Asian semiconductor stocks Tuesday after the personal agent topped U.S. app charts. However, several markets later pared their early gains.
Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix initially gained about 3.5%, but South Korea’s Kospi later lost much of its early advance.
Taiwan’s Taiex also climbed to a record during the session. It eventually closed just 0.2% higher, according to the Financial Times.
The Asian moves followed a 4.3% rise in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index on Monday. That marked its strongest daily gain since August 4.
Meta shares jumped 11.4%, while Advanced Micro Devices rose 9.9%. AMD also closed above $1 trillion in market value.

Meta launched Muse in the United States on September 8. The company describes it as a personal AI agent that can complete tasks on a user’s behalf.
Muse ranked No. 1 among free apps on Apple’s U.S. App Store and Google Play as of Monday. Sensor Tower recorded more than 902,000 standalone downloads during its first six days.
Meta says Muse can book travel, fill out forms and make purchases with user approval. It runs on iOS, Android and the web in the United States. Users can also access the agent through WhatsApp.
The early adoption renewed investor expectations for stronger demand for AI inference computing. Investors also focused on related demand for processors, memory and other semiconductor components.
