KARACHI: The Malir River Bridge closure will halt traffic on both sides of the National Highway from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 18 and 19 for construction work, police said Friday.
Karachi Traffic Police said the work forms part of the Malir Expressway project. The closure will affect the bridge within the Malir City Traffic Section’s jurisdiction.
Motorists travelling from Quaidabad should take a U-turn onto the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Expressway. They can then proceed towards Malir City, according to the official traffic advisory.
Vehicles approaching from Malook Hotel on the National Highway should pass beneath the Malir River Bridge. They can continue towards Steel Mills from the designated diversion.

Traffic police personnel will remain deployed at key locations. They will guide motorists and manage traffic during the two-day closure.
The police advised commuters to use the designated routes, follow traffic instructions and allow additional travel time.
