LJUBLJANA: Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic drew attention over his conditioning as he hosted teammates for a four-day minicamp in Slovenia ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.
Photos and video from the gathering showed Doncic training with teammates following an offseason in which he has continued the fitness programme he began after joining the Lakers. Social-media reaction focused heavily on his leaner appearance, although images alone cannot establish his current weight or conditioning level.
The Lakers arrived in Slovenia on August 20 for the player-organised camp, which ran through August 24. Doncic brought together most of the roster for basketball workouts and activities to strengthen team chemistry before formal training camp.
The group trained at Stožice Arena in Ljubljana before visiting Lake Bled, where players took part in rowing and golf. Other activities included sightseeing and cycling as Doncic hosted the revamped roster in his home country.
Doncic previously detailed a major change to his training and diet in a 2025 Men’s Health profile. He said his programme included two-a-day workouts, reduced sugar, a gluten-free diet, intermittent fasting and increased protein intake.
Doncic lost about 38 pounds (17 kilograms). The original Men’s Health profile did not publish a confirmed body weight or verify a 38-pound loss, so the figure is not presented here as independently established.
