LIVERPOOL, England: Liverpool fought back to draw Nottingham Forest 2-2 in the Premier League on Saturday, leaving manager Andoni Iraola without a league victory after his first two matches in charge.

Forest took the lead through Dan Ndoye after a counterattack before Liverpool improved significantly following the break.

Alexander Isak equalised shortly after the hour mark, while newcomer Victor Munoz scored Liverpool’s late second goal to secure a point.

Munoz also played a decisive role in Liverpool’s opening 2-2 draw with Newcastle United six days earlier, winning the late penalty that helped his side recover from another losing position.

Iraola said Liverpool were quicker, more intense and showed greater urgency in the second half against Forest, but criticised their first-half performance.

The former Bournemouth manager said Liverpool had been too passive without the ball and left excessive space between players before improving their pressing and duel-winning after halftime.

“I think Victor has been very good both games,” Iraola said, praising the winger’s persistence, attacking threat and defensive contribution.

Liverpool have now recovered from losing positions in consecutive league matches but remain without a win under Iraola.

The manager said the comebacks were encouraging but stressed that results would ultimately be measured by victories and three points.

Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign French winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, citing British media reports, but the transfer is not presented as officially confirmed.
