LAHORE: Fourteen children, all under 12, died after the roof of a home-based tuition centre collapsed in Kahna on the outskirts of Lahore, according to witnesses.
The incident occurred in the late afternoon while more than 25 children were attending lessons inside a modest house.
That also served as a tuition centre. Witnesses said renovation work was underway on the upper floor, where the teacher’s husband was reinforcing the roof ahead of the monsoon season.
The structure failed under the added load and collapsed onto the children below. Rescue teams and residents later cleared the rubble and recovered the victims.
