PESHAWAR, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: KP raises attorney allowance from 60% to 100% of Initial Basic Pay Scales 2022 for eligible provincial officers, effective July 1, the Finance Department said.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet approved the increase at a special meeting on June 19, 2026. The provincial Finance Department later issued the notification implementing the decision.
The monthly allowance will equal 100% of the initial basic pay assigned to each officer under the 2022 pay scale. It applies to Attorney Cadre officers serving in the Law, Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs Department.
The notification states that the allowance will not count toward pension, commutation or gratuity. The Finance Department will deduct the applicable income tax.

Officers from other cadres working against Attorney Cadre posts cannot claim the allowance. Employees hired under contracts, market-based salaries or other special pay packages are also ineligible.
An Attorney Cadre officer posted outside the cadre to a position carrying another special allowance may receive whichever allowance provides the greater financial benefit.
The provincial government withdrew previous orders governing the Attorney Performance Allowance. The revised terms apply from July 1, 2026.
