Pakistan’s renowned singer, Komal Rizvi, surprised her fans on Friday by announcing her marriage to US-based S Ali Uppal on Instagram.
Rizvi posted the news with a heartfelt message for her new husband: “Here is a solemn promise; to always dream with you, celebrate with you, and walk beside you through WHATEVER life may bring. InshAllah.”
The singer looked stunning in a traditional silver lehenga created by her mother as she joyfully posed with her husband.
According to Rizvi’s PR management company, the wedding was an intimate affair attended only by close friends and family. Her husband, Ali, is the CEO and co-founder of a multi-billion dollar Silicon Valley company.
In a statement, Komal expressed her excitement for this new chapter and gratitude for all her accomplishments thus far. She said, “I am beyond grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way. From my music to my business ventures, I have been able to pursue my passions and make a positive impact. And now, I am thrilled to embark on this new journey with the love of my life by my side.”
Earlier this year, Rizvi opened up about her first marriage in a YouTube podcast. She revealed that it had been an abusive relationship, causing her significant physical and emotional trauma. The marriage, which took place when she was 21, lasted for four years.
During the interview, Rizvi stressed the importance of teaching women to establish boundaries and expressed no regrets about her divorce, except for taking four years to decide. “You must learn to give your daughters-in-law love and respect,” In the same interview, when questioned about her relationship status, she coyly responded, “I can’t comment on that.”
