Kia Lucky Motors has declared a significant price hike for various models of Kia vehicles, effective from July 5, 2023, citing the inclusion of the Capital Value Tax (CVT). However, no specific reason was given for the price increase.
Price Increases
The Kia Picanto AT now costs Rs3,825,000, up by Rs200,000, while the Picanto MT remains at Rs3,350,000. The Kia Stonic EX+ price increased by Rs120,000 to Rs6,050,000, but the Stonic EX stays at Rs5,350,000.
Prices for the Sportage lineup, including the Alpha, FWD, AWD, and Black Edition, have each risen by Rs250,000. The Sorento models’ prices increased by Rs400,000 each, with the 2.4L FWD now costing Rs10,800,000, the 2.4L AWD at Rs11,700,000, and the 3.5L FWD at Rs11,390,000.
The KIA Grand Carnival Executive price remains static at Rs16,750,000. The company added that except for the Carnival Executive, all models could be fully booked and price-locked. Orders with full payments made by July 5, 2023, will be delivered at the current prices, excluding freight, insurance, and any new government-imposed charges.
