Tehran: Khamenei funeral ceremonies will be held after the first 10 days of Muharram, organisers of the commemorative events said Tuesday.
The committee said farewell, funeral and burial arrangements for Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei would begin after the Ashura mourning period ends, Tasnim reported.
Organisers said the decision respects Muharram observances in Iran and across the wider Islamic world. The statement warned against speculation and unverified reports about the timing and details of the ceremonies.
It said rumours had caused confusion among people wishing to attend the gathering. The committee said final scheduling and logistical arrangements were being coordinated by relevant authorities and public organisations.
