Mayor Murtaza Wahab of Karachi inaugurated the city’s first zipline at Safari Park, marking a significant addition to the city’s recreational offerings.
At the inauguration event, Mayor Wahab launched the zipline and personally experienced the ride, joined by Deputy Mayor Salman Murad.
Mayor Wahab shared his enthusiasm for the zipline as a unique attraction for Karachi’s residents. He also spoke about his broader vision to develop more recreational spaces in the city. However, financial constraints were mentioned as a challenge delaying the progress of several such projects.
Deputy Mayor Salman Murad, speaking at the ceremony, discussed ongoing development initiatives in all seven districts of Karachi. He revealed plans to introduce horse riding at the Dino Safari Park, another innovative project to enhance the city’s recreational facilities. Earlier in August, Mayor Karachi inaugurated a newly developed dinosaur park at Safari Park, with plans to expand the zipline project.
It is important to note that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) previously announced plans to launch a zipline at Bagh Ibne Qasim near the Clifton coastline. The project, announced by then City Administrator and now Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, is still pending installation at Bagh Ibne Qasim. These initiatives represent a concerted effort to enrich the recreational landscape of Karachi, offering novel experiences to its residents.
