Cops continue to remain in the ‘cross hairs’ of unknown gunmen as yesterday yet another police officer was o among the nine fatal victims of target killings.
“It was ride-by shooting as Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) Mohammad Ibrahim, posted at Korangi No. 2 Police Station, was killed after three armed bikers opened indiscriminate fire on a patrolling vehicle”, an official told the media.
“The shooters, armed with .30 bore TT pistols, caught the cops off guard, did their deadly job, and revved away,” he added.
“We are digging into this dastardly attack on one of our own. The killers will have to pay for it sooner or later. They just cannot outrun the long arm of the law”, the newly appointed Inspector General of Sindh Police, Ghulam Haider Jamali said.
“The policemen were not wearing any body armor at the time of the attack” according to sources.
Meanwhile in Manghopir a tailor was shot dead and in Orangi town a man in his 20s was gunned down. A woman was also shot dead in Korangi area and in Gulbahar two men were mowed down after midnight. Meanwhile a dead body was recovered from Jheel park in the Ferozabad area.
