The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said it foiled a Karachi Terror Plot during Eid al-Adha 1447H celebrations in Karachi, Sindh, after arresting two suspected Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA) operatives.
A CTD spokesperson said the department and a federal law enforcement agency carried out the joint operation at a bus terminal in Yousuf Goth on Hub River Road after receiving a tip-off.
The spokesperson identified one suspect as Allah Dino. CTD said he had travelled from Gwadar to Karachi by bus on the banned outfit’s instructions to carry out attacks during Eid celebrations.
Officials said teams recovered 10 rolls of explosive material, two non-electric detonators and eight metres of safety fuse from Allah Dino’s possession.
CTD identified the second suspect as Faraz Ahmed Somro, alias Toto. The department said he had been absconding in a terrorism case registered in Karachi.

According to CTD, Faraz and his accomplices had links to the 2022 attack on Chinese nationals at a dental clinic in Saddar, Karachi. Earlier reports on that case said one person was killed and two others were injured in the clinic attack.
Authorities also recovered a 30-bore pistol and ammunition from Faraz, the CTD spokesperson said.
CTD said it had formed special teams to arrest remaining accomplices and target killers linked to the network.
The Ministry of Interior banned the SRA, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz-Aresar Group and Sindhu Desh Liberation Army in 2020 under the Anti-Terrorism Act, according to earlier official reporting.
