Journalist unions condemn attack on Journalist and reporters in Islamabad

Pakistan Federation Union of Journalists (PFUJ) have condemned the attack on reporters of different news channel during clashes at Constitution Avenue of Islamabad on Sunday.

Police attacked reporters of different news channels during clashes with activists of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad. The cops also smashed the cameras as well.

Secretary of Pakistan Federation Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Ameen Yousuf, said “We will protect the media at any cost”

 Rana Azeem President of PFUJ, said that Islamabad Police were ordered to crackdown media officials. He added that he is ready to provide evidence regarding the claim.

Journalist organisations have called for countrywide demonstrations against the attack on media persons.
