Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel continued making Jimmy Kimmel Trump jokes on his Monday, May 4, show. This happened despite White House criticism and calls for him to be taken off air.
Kimmel mocked President Donald Trump’s late-night Truth Social posts, including a photo of first lady Melania Trump smiling.
“At 11:04, he posted this even more unbelievable picture of Melania smiling,” Kimmel said, drawing laughter from the studio audience.
He also joked about Trump’s remarks at a Florida retirement community. There, the president said Melania disliked when he danced on stage to “Y.M.C.A.” by the Village People.
The latest jokes followed criticism over Kimmel’s April 23 episode. During that episode, he described Melania as having “a glow like an expectant widow.”
Melania later criticised Kimmel on X, saying people like him should not have the opportunity to enter homes each evening to “spread hate.”
White House communications director Steven Cheung called Kimmel a “s— human being” and said he should be fired immediately.
Kimmel defended the earlier remark as an obvious joke about the age gap between Trump, 79, and Melania, 56.
After making Trump assassination jokes, Jimmy Kimmel joked about Rudy Giuliani last week, saying he “rose from the grave”.
It was just announced tonight that Rudy was hospitalized and is in critical condition.

He also said he was sorry that Melania, the president and others experienced fear after a gunman rushed security at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
Trump later called Kimmel “a lowlife” during a Newsmax appearance and said he should not be on television.
ABC and its parent company, Disney, are under pressure as the Federal Communications Commission reviews the licences of ABC stations. This comes amid possible legal and regulatory violations at local stations.
