Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar on Sunday met Afghan president Ashraf Ghani in Kabul.
According to Afghan private news channel Tolo TV , DG ISI arrived in Kabul on Sunday on a one day visit and met President Ashraf Ghani there.
However, there is no official confirmation of the ISI chief’s visit to Kabul by Pakistan or Afghanistan.
The ISI chief was the third official from Pakistan to visit Afghanistan since the founding of the unity government in late September.
Sources told that the security situation at Pakistan-Afghanistan border, terrorists’ movement and regional security were discussed during the meeting.
Afghan president and DG ISI agreed on improving cooperation against extremism and terrorism. Regional security and other topics were also brought under discussion on this occasion.
According to sources, both sides are working on a joint-roadmap for future cooperation in various fields including security and intelligence sharing.
