United States President Donald Trump said Iran’s enriched uranium should be handed to the US for destruction or destroyed at another agreed location under supervision.
Trump made the demand in a Truth Social post, saying the material should be “immediately turned over” to the United States or destroyed in coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He said the process could take place where the material is held or at another acceptable location. Trump added that the Atomic Energy Commission, or an equivalent body, should witness the process.
The remarks came as Washington and Tehran continued talks over Iran’s nuclear programme. Iran International reported that Trump’s post followed negotiations involving regional mediators.

Trump has repeatedly said the United States will not allow Iran to keep highly enriched uranium. Al Jazeera reported last week that the issue remained central to tensions between Washington and Tehran. No Iranian acceptance of Trump’s proposal has been confirmed yet.
