Iranian Army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia described a bounty for capturing US soldiers or handing over their remains in a video circulated on Tuesday. He said women would receive double the reward.
Akraminia put the standard payment at 5 billion tomans, about $20,000. For women, he described a reward of 10 billion tomans, approximately $40,000.
His remarks concerned American troops entering Iranian territory in a hypothetical ground invasion.
According to Akraminia, benefactors proposed funding the initiative because they wanted to support the conflict against US forces but could not fight themselves.

This is not the first time Iran has put out a bounty on US troops. In August, Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Amir Hatami announced a similar $30,000 reward for citizens who succeed in capturing or killing a US soldier.
He also suggested that residents of other countries in the region could qualify for similar payments. However, he framed that extension as a possibility rather than a confirmed arrangement.

The spokesman described eligibility as capturing a soldier or handing over a soldier’s remains to authorities. Akraminia described payments for capturing US soldiers or handing over their remains, with double the reward for women.
