Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan threatened that he would lead a million march from Lahore to Islamabad on August 14 come what may.
Addressing a gathering of party’s activists and office bearers here on Tuesday, Khan called on Pakistanis to take part in what he called the “Azadi March” for the sake of their children’s future.
“God willing, we will establish a “Naya Pakistan” with the power of people on August 14,” he pledged. (Naya Pakistan is the term that the PTI has coined for the state of affairs when they will rule the country_
He also urged the federal government to refrain from politicking on the issue of internally-displaced persons (IDPs).
“Not only we will look after the IDPs well, we will also liberate 20 million Pakistanis from the rotten system of governance,” he stated.
“I lay the blame on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the displacement of over 700, 000 people. Why was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and PTI not informed about the operation?” he continued.
He further said that he would try election riggers under Article 6 of the Constitution. The PTI chief invited other parties to join his planned march on Islamabad for electoral reforms.
