The Punjab government has appointed actress and television host Iffat Omar as the cultural adviser to Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, to enhance the province’s cultural landscape.
Omar will collaborate with the ministry at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore to design programs that promote Punjab’s rich heritage. Her responsibilities will include supporting initiatives in performing arts, literature, and traditional crafts and coordinating cultural events to engage communities throughout the province. Additionally, she will focus on preserving and showcasing Punjab’s cultural identity.
Iffat Omar has extensive experience in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. She is recognised for her roles in television dramas and as a host. Her appointment aligns with the government’s goal to revitalise cultural institutions and enhance public engagement with local traditions.
