Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission rejected social media claims of an HEC data breach, saying an internal security review found no compromise of its degree verification records.
The commission said its Cyber Security Operations Centre conducted an immediate investigation after purported leaked sample records were shared online.
According to HEC, the records circulating on social media were not linked to the commission’s Degree Attestation System.
The commission described the breach claims as baseless and misleading. It said the reports did not reflect any compromise of HEC’s database or degree attestation records.
