Actress Hajra Yamin’s performance in “Doctor Bahu” has drawn praise from Indian writer and producer Sutapa Sikdar, the late actor Irrfan Khan’s wife.
Sikdar responded to an online discussion about the Pakistani drama and called Hajra an “underrated gem,” according to the source brief.
Sikdar said Hajra had consistently delivered strong performances, even when paired with less experienced co-stars. She also praised “Doctor Bahu” as a well-written and well-directed project.
Hajra thanked Sikdar for the support and said the comment felt special. She said she had admired Irrfan Khan’s work for years.

“I’m at a loss for words,” Hajra wrote in her response, according to the source brief. The praise followed appreciation from several Pakistani actors.
Actor Kubra Khan shared a photo of Hajra and called her a “Talent ki Dukaan.” Actor Rabya Kulsoom described Hajra’s performance as a “masterclass.”

She said Hajra’s portrayal left her emotional. The source brief said social media users also praised the role and said “Doctor Bahu” had given Hajra wider attention.
