Gullu Butt the colourful character of the Model town incident has formaly challenged the anti-terrorism court`s (ATC) decision regarding his 11 year imprisonment in the Lahore High Court (LHC) today.
In the appeal filed by Advocate Kashif Zaidi, it was stated that the ATC had announced its verdict contrary to the facts in the Model Town vandalism case.
It was further mentioned that any of the affected party has neither filed any complaint nor gave any testimonial before the court. Under the law, the court cannot sentence the suspect without the testimonial of the affected party.
Despite this, the trial court on police officials’ testimonial, sentenced Gullu Butt to eleven years and three months in prison, he added.
The convict has requested the Lahore High Court to nullify the decision and order his release.
