Google Play Store reportedly enhances the app installation with a new feature that could automatically open apps post-installation. This development, revealed by Android Authority in collaboration with Assemble Debug, builds on recent updates that increased simultaneous app download capabilities.
Google Play Store’s Auto-Open Feature
The ‘auto-open’ feature was initially detected during a June APK teardown of the Google Play Store app version 42.5.15, suggesting it may soon be officially unveiled. Not yet accessible to the public, this functionality allows installed apps to launch automatically on Android smartphones, as indicated by a newly added ‘Automatically open after install’ option on the app page in the Play Store.

A related video demonstrates a 5-second countdown in the notification drawer before the app opens automatically. Users can disable this feature via a toggle, offering flexibility in managing how apps launch after installation.
Simultaneous Downloads on the Google Play Store
To enhance user convenience, Google Play Store has reportedly updated its system to allow up to three apps or updates to be downloaded simultaneously. This improvement, initially enabling two concurrent downloads in April, was reportedly available to Android users in India. It streamlines the update process and displays a ‘Pending’ status for additional queued apps.
