SAN ANSELMO, California: Google Photos batch editing is available through Batch, an independent Chrome extension that applies the same enhancements, filters, crops and rotations across multiple images.

Developer Yair Levin updated the extension to version 1.0.93 on July 16. The latest release also supports bulk descriptions, custom editing presets, downloads and library cleanup, according to its Chrome Web Store listing.

Batch works inside an open Google Photos tab. Users select images, choose an action and keep the tab open while the extension automates Google Photos’ existing controls.

The extension can also convert live or motion photos into still images. Early developer testing found reductions of about 70% to 80% in size, though savings vary by photo.

Conversion removes the motion component and moves the original file to Google Photos Trash. The developer warns that some metadata, including location and camera information, may not transfer to the still copy.

Batch offers 25 processed photos each month at no cost. Its Plus plan costs $6.99 monthly or $55 annually for 500 photos, while the $24.99 monthly Pro plan provides unlimited processing. Annual Pro access costs $199.

The developer’s privacy policy says Batch does not upload photo files to its servers. However, it collects limited anonymous usage analytics and stores batch information locally in Chrome.

Extension Pay and Stripe handle subscription and payment data for paid plans. Batch is a third-party product and has no affiliation with Google.
