A tragic accident in Ghanche district, Gilgit-Baltistan, on April 30, 2025, claimed the lives of four people, including the driver, and injured 12 to 16 others when a tractor-trolley plunged 150–200 feet into a gorge near Gulshan Kabir.

According to police spokesperson Ghulam Muhammad, the vehicle, carrying labourers working on a construction project, lost control in the morning. Ghanche district Rescue 1122 Media Coordinator Zulfiqar Ali reported 12 injuries, while police cited 16.

The injured received first aid at a nearby dispensary before being transferred to a hospital for further treatment, as advised by medical staff. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, with police promising additional details soon.

The accident highlights the risks faced by labourers in remote areas, leading to calls for improved safety measures on these routes.
