Rapper Macklemore said on Wednesday that all three shows on his “Free Palestine” tour had sold out. The concerts are in Dublin, Paris and London.
He shared the update on Instagram one day after tickets went on sale. All proceeds from the shows will go to organisations benefiting Palestinians.
“Art will always be a form of resistance,” he wrote. Macklemore described the concerts as an opportunity for musicians to show solidarity and raise funds through collective action.
The rapper announced the tour on September 24 after losing his opening slot on singer Ed Sheeran’s “Loop Tour”. His removal followed on-stage comments supporting Palestinians.

In his tour announcement, Macklemore argued that artists should use their platforms to speak out. He portrayed attempts to silence support for Palestine as an issue extending beyond his own career.
However, Sheeran maintained in a September 15 statement that the removal was not his decision. Macklemore’s contract was with the promoter, he explained.
Later, during a September 19 concert in Philadelphia, Sheeran apologised for mistakes and described the controversy as a dispute about freedom of speech.

He also condemned the October 7 attack at Israel’s Nova music festival and characterised the situation in Gaza as catastrophic and unjustifiable.
Macklemore’s European concerts are scheduled for late October. Macklemore says his three European benefit concerts sold out, with proceeds supporting organisations benefiting Palestinians.
