MIANWALI: Four children suffocated after becoming trapped inside a parked car in Mianwali district’s Isakhel area on Sunday evening, police said Monday.
The children entered the unattended vehicle while playing in the Khaglanwala locality. Its doors locked automatically, preventing them from getting out.
Family members began searching after the children failed to return home. They later found the children unconscious inside the vehicle.
Three girls and one boy died in the incident, identified as Farishta Bibi, Muhammad Hussain, Habiba and Saniba.
The children belonged to two related families that had moved from Lakki Marwat for work. Reports described them as two sets of siblings who were also cousins.

Police moved the bodies to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Isakhel, before handing them over to their families. The families declined post-mortem examinations and submitted written statements that they did not want legal action.

No formal complaint was registered. Police described the deaths as an apparent accident based on their initial inquiry.
Officers inspected the vehicle, collected evidence and recorded statements. Police said they were continuing to examine the circumstances.
