Former coach Waqar Younis had a meeting meeting with PCB Chairman Najam Sethi.
“I have applied for the post of head coach. Like others, I am also available to take up the job,” Younis told reporters at Qaddafi Stadium after meeting Sethi.
Waqar Younis, is being considered as favorite to get the job. If selected, this will be his second spell as team’s head coach. Previously, he coached the national team from March 2010 to March 2011.
The former pacer denied having differences or issue with Moin Khan or any other team official. Waqar’s former teammate Saqlain Mushtaq has also applied for the top slot.
