The federal government has opposed lifting of travel ban on former president Pervez Musharraf who is standing trial on high treason charges.
The government filed its former response to a two-member bench of the Sindh High Court over Musharraf’s petition seeking removal of his name from government’s Exit Control List (ECL).
The bench comprised Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Shahnawaz Tariq.
In his response, the government stated that the orders to put Musharraf on ECL were issued by the Supreme of Court; therefore, the high court is not entitled to hear the plea.
