CHICAGO: Enes Kanter Freedom was escorted from Wintrust Arena after a courtside confrontation during the Indiana Fever’s 113-90 win over the Chicago Sky on August 23.
The incident occurred during a third-quarter timeout with Indiana leading 81-75, according to the supplied OutKick and Fox News Digital report. Chicago guard Natasha Cloud shouted toward Freedom before the former NBA centre responded.
Security then removed Freedom from the arena. He later told OutKick that he had been cheering for Fever guard Sophie Cunningham and believed a message on his shirt contributed to the confrontation.
Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White urged reporters after the game not to amplify the incident, describing it as a “social media thing.”
Chicago Sky forward Azura Stevens said security handled what she described as a fan incident. Sky head coach Tyler Marsh defended Cloud, saying the team viewed her as someone who protects her teammates.

Fever guard Caitlin Clark said she did not see the exchange because Indiana was preparing for the next play. Fever players also said they had no interaction with Freedom during the game.
