MOSCOW, Russia: A drone attack on Russia sent 600 aircraft toward the capital region overnight, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, while officials reported three deaths in southern Rostov.
Sobyanin said Russian forces destroyed 201 drones over the Moscow region between Saturday evening and 6:30 a.m. Sunday local time. The total included aircraft intercepted before reaching the region, according to AFP’s report.
Three people suffered injuries within the Moscow Ring Road area, Sobyanin said. Medical teams provided treatment, but officials did not disclose their conditions.
Rostov Region Governor Yuri Sliusar said three people died and another person required hospital treatment during the overnight assault. The region borders eastern Ukraine.
Sliusar said Russian forces destroyed more than 150 drones and missiles across three cities and nine districts. Residential and industrial buildings sustained damage in the Kamensky district.
The governor also reported roof damage in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. Blasts shattered windows at an apartment building and the city’s railway station.

Ukraine had not immediately commented on the reported numbers. Independent sources could not verify the drone totals or casualty figures.
