Emirates flight number EK 612 carrying chief PAT Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has been diverted to Lahore airport.
According to Emirates Airline website, flight EK612 has been diverted from Islamabad towards Lahore and will land around 9:35 at the main terminal of the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Reports said the Emirates Airline issued wrong information about the flight landing.
The plane kept on encircling the Islamabad airport for landing but Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) denied landing permission.
Federal Interior Ministry says the flight was diverted owing to security concerns in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The twin cities were sealed by the authorities.
Earlier, It was reported that the plane had landed at Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
