Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington posted “WHITE PRIVILEGE” on Threads after being ejected for a foul on Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, according to ESPN.
Carrington tagged the Indiana Fever in the post but did not identify a specific player. The message appeared minutes after she left the court, the supplied report said.
Officials ejected Carrington after reviewing a first-quarter play in which she struck Cunningham’s head while trying to stop a fast-break layup. The original foul call was upgraded following the review.
The ejection ended Carrington’s game after four minutes. The official WNBA box score credited her with eight points and one rebound.
Carrington joined the Women’s National Basketball Association in 2021 after playing college basketball at Stanford University and Baylor University. The Connecticut Sun selected her in the second round of the 2021 WNBA Draft.
Kelsey Mitchell scored 27 points for Indiana, while Caitlin Clark added 26 points and 11 assists. The Fever’s official recap said Indiana improved to 20-12, while Chicago fell to 12-20.
