KARACHI, Sindh: Police arrested a man identified as Mehmood after a foreign woman alleged that he attempted to sexually assault her inside an apartment in DHA Phase 6.
Police registered a First Information Report on a complaint filed by the woman’s father. The alleged incident occurred on the night of July 17, according to the complaint.
The woman told police that the suspect had brought her home and entered the apartment with her permission. She alleged that he then attempted to assault her but fled when she resisted and raised an alarm.
Police said the suspect later returned to retrieve a mobile phone left inside the apartment. He allegedly fled again after the woman shouted for help. Investigators detained Mehmood after recording the complaint and beginning legal proceedings.

Police arranged a medical examination of the woman and collected forensic samples. The evidence will be sent to a laboratory for investigation.
Authorities had not disclosed the suspect’s court appearance date or the specific sections included in the First Information Report.
