The Counter Terrorism Department carried out an intelligence-based operation in Pishin, killing at least 10 terrorists and injuring 10 security personnel, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Authorities launched the operation after receiving verified intelligence about militants linked to banned outfits operating in the area.
Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said security forces repeatedly asked the militants to surrender before taking action. He said the state exercised restraint and pursued dialogue. When the militants refused to lay down their arms, forces moved in to neutralise the threat.
Security personnel recovered rocket launchers, submachine guns, and a large quantity of explosive material from the site. Rind said the presence of such sophisticated weapons raised serious security concerns. He added that authorities had already registered 13 terrorism-related cases against the militants in Pishin.

DIG CTD Aetzaz Ahmed Goraya confirmed that several wanted militants died during the operation. He identified Sanaullah Agha and his brothers among those killed. Goraya said authorities will send the recovered weapons for forensic analysis.
Goraya said investigators found that the militants used explosives originally intended for mining. He added that CTD teams had monitored the area due to repeated movement of members linked to Fitna al-Khawarij. Authorities sent mediators to negotiate with the militants before launching the operation.
Goraya said security forces acted only after militants rejected all calls to surrender. He stressed that CTD does not seek confrontation but will act to protect the state.
Goraya warned that CTD would show no leniency to facilitators of terrorism. He urged militants to surrender and rejoin the national mainstream. He said the state would deal firmly with anyone who challenges its writ.
Shahid Rind said the Balochistan government would not yield to political pressure. He said authorities would pursue all individuals involved in terrorism, including facilitators, and bring them to justice to ensure lasting peace in the province.
