WASHINGTON, D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump sought Comey interview notes aboard Air Force One in May 2025, a court filing says. James Comey’s lawyers disclosed the records in a July 28 dismissal motion.

Secret Service records said Trump wanted a summary for a 6 p.m. media appearance. Another message called the inquiry a “hot topic” aboard the plane and said Trump was “very interested.”

Agents sent an executive summary at 9:29 p.m., after Comey’s 45-minute interview ended, according to defence lawyer Patrick Fitzgerald’s affidavit.

Fitzgerald also alleged that agents tracked Comey’s phone without a warrant from North Carolina to Virginia. An internal message called such tracking legally questionable because agents saw no immediate threat to life.

The Secret Service nevertheless sought emergency location data from Verizon, the filing said. Fitzgerald attributed the request to an unnamed senior Justice Department official.

Comey’s lawyers accused the government of vindictive and selective prosecution. They asked U.S. District Judge Louise Flanagan to dismiss the indictment and suppress evidence.

Federal prosecutors indicted Comey in April over his May 2025 Instagram photo of seashells arranged as “86 47.” The indictment alleges that the image threatened Trump. Comey denies any violent intent.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche denied that Trump directed the indictment. The Justice Department said a North Carolina grand jury charged Comey.

The Secret Service said it would respond through official court filings. Comey’s arraignment is scheduled for September 30 in New Bern, North Carolina, CBS News reported.
