An anti-corruption court in Lahore indicted Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), for land grabbing.
Arif Mehmood, a special judge of an anti-corruption court, indicted a PML-N representative.
In the case, the court has also subpoenaed witnesses. As a result, the hearing has been postponed until January 30.
Previously, the court granted Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf’s bail request in a land fraud case. Ashraf was granted bail in exchange for Rs100,000 bail bonds.
It is crucial to note that on Tuesday, a team from the Punjab anti-corruption establishment detained PML-N MNA Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf on charges of “land snatching.”
The NA-161 Sahiwal PML-N representative is accused of occupying 157 acres of government land. The Punjab anti-corruption department stated that the PML-N politician occupied the land with the assistance of Muhammad Saleem Patwari using forged documents.
The legislator was arrested once the charge was confirmed, and a case was also opened against the PML-N politician.
