Pakistan beat Malaysia 5-3 World Cup qualifiers to secure a place in the semi-finals of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Ismailia, Egypt.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation praised the team’s performance, citing attacking intensity and disciplined play against a strong Malaysian side.

Pakistan’s goals came from Rana Waheed Ashraf, Zakariya Hayat, Ahmed Nadeem, Muhammad Sufyan Khan, and Muhammad Ammar, helping the side control key moments in a fast-paced, high-scoring match.

Malaysia scored through Abdul Rauf, Ahkamullah, and Fitri Saari, but could not prevent Pakistan from sealing the win and confirming a last-four spot.

President PHF Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, along with senior officials, including members of the Ad-hoc Governance and Management Committee and Chief Selector Samiullah Khan, congratulated the team on qualifying for the semi-finals.

Pakistan will next face Austria in their third group match on Wednesday as the qualifier campaign continues.

The report also notes that Pakistan hockey captain Ammad Shakeel Butt has been handed a two-year suspension following serious allegations, without further details in this text.
