INDIANAPOLIS: Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark explained on Tuesday why she didn’t wear a personalised Indianapolis Colts jersey last season, joking about her loyalty to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Clark discussed the incident on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast on November 3. She said she usually attends one Colts game each year to support the local team, although her allegiance remains with Kansas City.
The Colts had given Clark a jersey bearing her name during a game she attended with her Indiana Fever teammates. She kept the gift but chose not to wear it.
Clark explained that she had not consciously considered whether wearing the jersey would upset Travis Kelce or Chiefs supporters.

Only afterwards did she realise that all her teammates had put on their Colts jerseys. She joked that the contrast made her own decision look worse.

Kylie praised Clark for remaining loyal to Kansas City. She also recalled facing criticism for refusing to wear Chiefs colours when attending games with her husband, former NFL player Jason Kelce.
Clark said she needed “to be loyal to the red”, referring to the Chiefs’ colours. Despite her football allegiance, she expressed affection for the Colts and confirmed that she still owns the personalised jersey.
She also praised Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson, who took over the franchise after their father, Jim Irsay, died in May 2025.
Clark has developed close ties with the Kelce family and has attended Chiefs games alongside Taylor Swift. She also gifted Travis, Jason and Chiefs coach Andy Reid pairs of her Caitlin 1 Nike sneakers.
