Bushra Bibi, spouse of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, surrendered to an accountability court in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. This followed a 14-year sentence in the Toshakhana case. Judge Mohammad Bashir announced the decision, leading to her immediate custody by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team.

Bushra Bibi has since been moved to Bani Gala, designated as a sub-jail. This residence in Islamabad belongs to Imran Khan. The relocation was formalized through a notification.

Security Measures and Sentencing

In light of recent events, Islamabad Police maintain strict security at Bani Gala. A similar increase in security is seen around Adiala Jail, with police personnel bolstering the facility’s perimeter.

Recent threats have escalated concerns. The jail administration reported a threatening call, prompting heightened security measures. Officials have confirmed the receipt of this call on the jail’s official number.

Previously, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi received a 14-year sentence in the Toshakhana case. They were also fined Rs1,574 million and barred from public office for 10 years. Their right to cross-examine prosecution witnesses was closed after being asked to record statements under Section 342 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
